January 16

Sing a Song

Choose Some Fruit
(Tune: "Row, row, row your boat")

Choose, choose, choose some fruits,
And eat them every day.
They give you vitamin A and C,
And help you work and play.

Try This

Teach your children about vitamins and what foods offer important vitamins like calcium and vitamin C. Find pictures of fruits and vegetables and glue to one side of a notecard. On the other side, draw or write about what vitamin that food provides. For example, find a picture of carrots. Carrots are full of vitamin A, which is important to skin and eye health!

Read a Book

Here are some book recommendations for today. Check out the picture book collection at your local library, where there are lots of books to choose from! Find nearby libraries.

  • Just Try One Bite Adam Mansbach and Camila Alves McConaughey; Illustrated by Mike Boldt
  • What's so yummy? all about eating well and feeling good by Robie H. Harris; illustrated by Nadine Bernard Westcott
