Sing a Song

You already know that washing your hands is important to be healthy. This song teaches the proper way to wash your hands.

The Hand Washing Song
(Tune: Frère Jacques)

Are you coughing? Are you sneezing?
Cover your mouth, cover your mouth.
Germs are always flying, germs are always flying.
Wash your hands, wash your hands!

Scrub your palms, between the fingers,
Wash the back, wash the back
Twirl the tips around, Scrub them upside down
Thumb attack! Thumb attack!

Try This

Wash your hands side-by-side with your child and count off 20 seconds or sing “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star” twice (which takes about 20 seconds). That is how long it takes to wash hands thoroughly!

Read a Book

Here are some book recommendations for today. Check out the picture book collection at your local library, where there are lots of books to choose from! Find nearby libraries.
